esims.io team's takeaway

BNESIM is a feature-rich eSIM provider with blockchain-based currency (BNE), extensive customization options, and VPN included with auto-renewable plans. They offer an impressive feature set, but the user experience has some frustrating friction points.

The eSIMS.io team tested BNESIM's Vietnam plan from Ho Chi Minh City. The purchase experience was confusing: when buying from the website, you're forced to download the mobile app to install your eSIM—you can't complete setup on web. Worse, the app login requires a username and password that BNESIM emails you, which feels insecure and cumbersome. We also discovered that auto-renewal/top-up is enabled by default, a questionable UX pattern that could catch users off guard.

Despite these friction points, BNESIM offers compelling features: programmable activation dates, eSIM gifting, account transfers, free BNE Guard VPN with renewals, 5% cashback in BNE currency, and excellent usage tracking. Their 30% discount code (ESIMS30) helps offset the premium pricing. If you can tolerate the clunky onboarding, BNESIM's feature depth is impressive—you can delay activation, gift eSIMs to friends, transfer eSIMs between accounts, and manage everything from the app. However, routing through China (via CMLink) from Vietnam created latency issues, and the forced app download for website purchases is a major UX flaw.

Network Quality and eSIM Features

Network quality & roaming

Likely good internet performance

Based on our testing, your traffic may travel to a neighboring country or nearby region before reaching the internet (regional connection). You'll likely experience slightly higher latency (delays) than local connections, but it should be good for most activities. Websites might occasionally detect you in the nearby routing country instead of where you are.

Known Network partners:CMLink

Routes through CMLink network infrastructure from China. The 6/10 performance score reflects moderate quality, with nearby routing from Vietnam providing acceptable latency.
